Assam Clears Re 1 Land Premium for Lovlina Boxing Academy
Assam has approved land for a boxing academy named after Lovlina Borgohain.
The land premium will be a token Re 1, and four bighas have been set aside near Guwahati.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the academy could help young boxers get better training.
Borgohain recently won gold in the women's 75-kg boxing event at the Asian Games.
She beat China's Bao Ziyi 5-0 in the final.
The state also welcomed and felicitated her after she returned to Assam.
The academy is expected to give emerging boxers more chances to train and compete.
