Karnataka Raises Social Security Pension Income Limit
Karnataka has increased the income limit for receiving certain government pensions.
The old limit was Rs 32,000 a year.
The new limit is Rs 1.20 lakh a year.
This applies to eligible old-age, widow and disability pension recipients.
Officials checked the details of more than 23 lakh people.
During the checks, many pensions were temporarily stopped because documents or income certificates were missing.
Officials will now continue pensions for people who qualify under the new limit.
They must still complete verification and meet the other rules.
Karnataka raised the annual income ceiling for eligible social security pension beneficiaries from Rs 32,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh.
