Two Men Killed in Navi Mumbai Hit-and-Run; Driver Flees
Two men were riding a scooter near Pawane MIDC when a vehicle hit them from behind.
The men were traveling toward Thane.
The crash happened on Wednesday evening at about 7:15 p.m.
Both men fell onto the road and were badly hurt.
They were taken to a municipal hospital.
Doctors said they had died before treatment could begin.
The vehicle’s driver left without stopping.
Police are now trying to find the vehicle and its driver.
Raj Pancham Jaiswar, 42, and his 61-year-old father-in-law, Shivmurat Ramlochan Jaiswal, died after their scooter was hit.
The crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. near the drain below Khairane Bridge in Pawane MIDC.
Police said an unidentified vehicle struck the scooter from behind while the men were traveling toward Thane.
The driver allegedly fled without helping the injured men or informing police.
Turbhe police registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 106(1), 281 and 125(a)(b), and are tracing the vehicle.
