Manipur BJP Legislator First Indian with 5th Dan in Traditional Taekwondo
A politician from Manipur named Yumnam Khemchand Singh has achieved a very high rank in a traditional form of Taekwondo.
He is the first Indian to get this special black belt, called the 5th Dan, from a big organization called the Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation.
He had to wait to get his certificate because of some problems in his home state.
Another important Taekwondo group also praised him for helping to make Taekwondo popular in India.
It's a big deal because he worked very hard to get this rank, and it shows how good he is at Taekwondo.
Yumnam Khemchand Singh, a BJP MLA from Manipur, is the first Indian to receive the 5th Dan Black Belt in Traditional Taekwondo from the GTTF.
The award was given after a rigorous evaluation process by six senior Taekwondo Grand Masters.
He could not travel to Seoul earlier to receive the certificate due to the ethnic situation in Manipur.
The Sangrok World Taekwondo Academy also recognized his contributions to popularizing Taekwondo in India.
The GTTF follows the traditional and classical system of Taekwondo, different from the Olympic and competitive formats.
