Jaishankar Calls for Global South Role in Global Decision-Making
S Jaishankar said developing countries are strongly affected by many world problems.
These problems include wars, supply disruptions, trade barriers and climate shocks.
He said these countries do not have enough influence over the decisions that affect them.
Jaishankar asked them to work together more closely.
He said they should cooperate on energy, food, trade and safe shipping.
He also said artificial intelligence should help people without creating new inequalities.
He called for changes to the United Nations and other international organizations.
India also discussed development and other international issues with officials from Uganda, Italy and Trinidad and Tobago.

He called for reform of the United Nations and multilateral institutions to reflect developing countries’ priorities.
Jaishankar urged cooperation on energy, food security, trade, supply chains, maritime safety and artificial intelligence.
He said Global South countries should use existing platforms to prevent their concerns from being deprioritized.
During United Nations meetings, Jaishankar held discussions with officials from Uganda, Italy and Trinidad and Tobago.
