Very Heavy Rain Hits Warangal and Mahabubabad Districts
A lot of rain fell in parts of the Warangal region.
The rain began on Saturday night and continued until early Sunday morning.
Mahabubabad and Warangal districts received the most rain.
Kesamudram in Mahabubabad recorded 173.8 millimetres of rain.
Rayaparthy in Warangal recorded 161.2 millimetres.
Some low-lying places collected water because of the heavy downpour.
Officials asked people to be careful near streams, tanks and low areas.
The rainfall figures were reported by the Telangana Government Development Planning Society.
Heavy to extremely heavy rain fell across parts of the erstwhile Warangal region from Saturday night to early Sunday.
Mahabubabad district recorded 50.1 mm of average rainfall, with Kesamudram receiving the highest total at 173.8 mm.
Warangal district recorded 56.9 mm of average rainfall, with Rayaparthy receiving the highest total at 161.2 mm.
Nellikudur and Wardhannapet also recorded very heavy rainfall, measuring 127.5 mm and 124.8 mm respectively.
Officials urged residents to stay cautious near streams, tanks and low-lying areas after water accumulated in some locations.
