Questions Mount Over CMR Paddy Allotments to Defaulting Rice Mills
Locals question paddy allotment to defaulting rice mills in district · thehansindia.com

Officials checked rice mills in Wanaparthy district.

They said two mills had not completed their government rice-supply duties.

The total value of the reported defaults was about Rs 17.25 crore.

Chamundi Industries received more than 2,434 tonnes of paddy but supplied only 319 tonnes of rice.

Officials said a large amount of paddy was still unaccounted for in February 2025.

They also said Chamundi Industries lacked required building permission and had borewell-related violations.

The mill was later sealed by Gram Panchayat authorities.

Millers and local residents want officials to review how the paddy was allotted and protect government stocks.
