K T Rama Rao, a top leader of the BRS party, went to court in Hyderabad on July 31, 2024.

He is accused of helping move a lot of money—about 55 crore rupees—to the organizers of a big car race called Formula E. The money was paid in foreign currency and the officials say it was done without following the rules.

Rao says the money was sent to make Hyderabad look good and that nothing illegal happened.

The court has not started the trial yet and will meet again on August 25, 2024.
