Konda Surekha has been involved in politics for more than 30 years.

She first held a local government position in 1995.

She became a state legislator in 1999.

In 2009, she became a minister in the Cabinet of undivided Andhra Pradesh.

After the death of Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, she joined his son’s party, the YSR Congress Party.

She later left that party and joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi before returning to the Indian National Congress.

She won the Warangal East seat again in 2023.

She became a Telangana minister on December 7, 2023, but was dismissed from the Cabinet on Thursday.
