Owaisi urges NDA allies to oppose Uniform Civil Code
Allies should oppose UCC if they have slightest disagreement with BJP’s ideology: Owaisi · theprint.in

Asaduddin Owaisi said some political parties should oppose the Uniform Civil Code if they do not fully agree with the BJP.

The Uniform Civil Code would create one set of personal laws for everyone.

Owaisi believes it could unfairly affect Muslims and other religious communities.

He said India’s Constitution protects people’s freedom to follow their religions.

He also argued that Hindu personal laws should not simply be imposed on non-Hindus.

Owaisi noted that tribal communities were left outside the code in Madhya Pradesh.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said the code will be introduced in all NDA-ruled states by 2029.

Owaisi supported a Muslim Personal Law Board protest planned in New Delhi.
