Sony sells 419 VR and XR patents to Meta

Sony has sold Meta 419 patents for virtual and extended reality technology.

Some cover head-mounted displays, the kind of technology used in VR headsets.

The deal does not mean Sony has officially ended its PlayStation VR 2 product.

But it raises questions about whether Sony plans to make another headset, while Meta continues to invest in VR.
