Student admits murdering woman in Dexter-inspired killing
Maria Saceanu, 24, was murdered at an Airbnb in Tividale, in the West Midlands.
Benjamin Day, a 20-year-old forensic science student, pleaded guilty to her murder during his trial.
The court heard that he was obsessed with the television drama Dexter and prepared the room as a tribute to it.
Saceanu had been working as an escort, but the court heard there was no evidence of sexual contact between them.
A pathologist said she died from wounds to her neck and had injuries to her hands consistent with trying to defend herself.
Her cousin said Saceanu had dreamed of becoming a mother and having a family.
Day is due to be sentenced in December.
