24 Paris families file complaint over alleged failures in after-school abuse cases
Twenty-four families whose children attended two Paris schools in 2025 and 2026 plan to file a collective complaint with the Paris prosecutor on October 12.
The complaint concerns alleged violence in after-school programs and names 14 people, including the City of Paris and current and former officials.
The families say the case should examine not only people accused of directly harming children but also officials who may have allowed an animator to move between schools without being suspended or reported.
The complaint alleges a decade of criminal failings, including endangering others and failing to report suspected abuse.
It follows another complaint filed in September by more than 15 families seeking to hold Paris officials accountable.
Paris said that by September 2026 it had suspended 195 after-school staff members that year, including 74 over suspected sexual violence against minors.
More than 230 criminal investigations were also under way in schools, according to the article.
