Montreal aging-products company expands U.S. operations amid trade disruption

Montreal-based Eugeria sells products for people with dementia and their caregivers through an online store.

Valerie Larochelle and geriatrician Quoc Dinh Nguyen founded the company in 2018 after seeing a gap in products available in Canada.

It sells items such as voice-reminder calendars, home safety devices and pill dispensers, sourced from several countries.

Canada-U.S.

trade tensions have disrupted shipments and raised costs, even for goods made outside both countries.

Eugeria opened a St. Louis office in February 2025 to manage supply-chain logistics and keep goods in the United States.

The company sees aging populations as a major growth opportunity, as the needs of older adults increase.

The Alzheimer Society of Canada estimates that 771,939 Canadians were living with dementia in 2025 and forecasts one million by 2030.
