Halkalı-Kapıkule rail line to cut travel times and link Turkey with Europe

The new rail line will connect Turkey’s railway network with Kapıkule, near the European border.

Passenger trips between Halkalı and Kapıkule are expected to take 90 minutes instead of four hours.

Freight trips are expected to fall from eight and a half hours to three and a half.

The line is also intended to improve transport links for goods moving between Turkey and European markets.
