Sean O’Malley’s coach says Talbott fight would be exciting but backs title push

Payton Talbott has called out Sean O’Malley after recent wins over former champions.

O’Malley and his coach, Tim Welch, are open to the matchup if O’Malley does not get a title shot.

Welch pushed back against claims that O’Malley is avoiding risk, saying a title fight pays more than fighting a lower-ranked opponent.

The disagreement highlights how money and rankings can shape which fights fighters pursue.
