Laika’s ‘Wildwood’ premieres at the London Film Festival
Wildwood is a stop-motion fantasy from Laika, the animation studio based in Oregon.
It premiered at the London Film Festival on October 11, 2026.
The film adapts Colin Meloy’s book and is set in Portland, the hometown of director-producer Travis Knight.
Its story follows Prue, a teenager whose baby brother is carried off by crows into a forbidden forest.
She enters the forest to find him and encounters talking animals, rival groups and Alexandra, a grieving woman with dark ambitions.
The film’s large-scale stop-motion animation makes it an ambitious project for the studio.
Its next scheduled screening is the North American premiere at AFI Fest in Hollywood later this month.
