Singareni sets 34% profit bonus for workers, lower than last year
Telangana has announced a profit bonus for Singareni workers at the state-owned coal company.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the company made ₹1,754 crore in net profit in 2025–26.
The company will allocate 34% of that profit, or ₹596 crore, to workers.
Reports put the average payment to permanent workers at about ₹1.54 lakh, compared with ₹1,95,610 last year.
About 30,000 contract workers are to receive ₹5,500 each, the same amount as last year.
The bonus share matches last year’s percentage, although worker unions had sought 35%.
The lower-than-expected profit figure has drawn union questions, with one union leader saying the company may have earned more and asking where the difference went.
