Gangwon potato-pancake-flavored chips to go on sale nationwide

Gangwon Province is launching potato-pancake-flavored chips nationwide from Oct.

15.

The chips will be sold at Lotte Mart and Lotte Super stores and at 7-Eleven convenience stores.

The product was developed with Lotte and snack maker Haitai, using potatoes grown by farms in Gangwon, including in Pyeongchang County.

Haitai bought 70 tonnes of potatoes and produced 180,000 bags at its factory in Wonju.

It is the second joint product, following corn-flavored chips launched last year.

The province says the project supports local farmers and promotes its regional brand.

A 3D animation will promote how potato pancakes become chips on social media and YouTube.
