Pipeline rupture in Russia’s Penza region leaves gas flows unaffected

A main gas pipeline ruptured and caught fire on October 13 in Volchkovo, in Russia’s Penza region.

The regional emergency service said the incident followed a disruption in the pipeline’s operating process.

No one was reported injured.

The damaged section was shut off, while consumers continued receiving gas by alternative routes.

Kazakhstan said Russian gas deliveries to the country and transit onward to Uzbekistan continued at planned levels.

The gas company said its teams were preparing repair work.
