David Threlfall gives a moving performance in a reworked King Lear
This production sets Shakespeare’s King Lear in a modern world and focuses on family power struggles.
David Threlfall plays both the king and the Fool, who normally speaks honestly to Lear.
The review praises Threlfall’s moving performance but says combining the roles takes away an important voice in the play.
The production is showing at the Royal Exchange in Manchester until 15 November.
