Apple reportedly cuts iPhone 18 Pro parts orders amid weaker demand

Apple has reportedly asked some suppliers to make fewer parts for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The reported reason is weaker-than-expected demand for the two premium phones.

One supply-chain account said orders for October were cut by 15% to 20%, but the scale and duration of any cuts are not confirmed across the reports.

The Pro models cost 150 euros more than their predecessors, and suppliers said demand is not as strong as when all new iPhone models launch together.

Apple plans to release the standard iPhone 18 next spring, though suppliers said that timing does not fully explain the weaker demand.

Lower phone sales could put pressure on Apple’s revenue and profit margins, and the news may weigh further on its share price.

The reports say it is not clear whether Apple will change orders again from November; holiday-season sales and the next results may help show whether demand or production limits are the main issue.

At the time, this was explained as a production-side constraint, but this report adds to the possibility that some of it is demand-side.
