Sumo association plans first Thailand exhibition tour in 2027

Japan’s Sumo Association plans to bring sumo wrestlers to Thailand for a three-day exhibition starting June 11, 2027.

The event will mark 140 years of formal diplomatic relations between Japan and Thailand.

It will be the first sumo exhibition tour in Thailand.

The association says these events introduce people abroad to sumo and help promote friendship.
