Rain slows Metro trains as protests delay Metrobús service in Mexico City

Rain led Mexico City’s Metro to run trains more slowly on Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 and B on Monday, October 12.

The slower speeds were a safety measure, and passengers were advised to allow more time for their journeys.

Line B also had delays while staff checked its tracks, with passengers reporting waits of up to 20 minutes and some saying they were stuck in tunnels for more than 15 minutes.

Line 7 had reported waits of 10 to 20 minutes as well.

Demonstrations caused delays on several Metrobús routes, while roadworks affected a section of Line 1 and maintenance suspended service at the 416 Oriente stop on Line 6.

Service was restored across Line 5 and the Metrobús South Route, though delays continued along the South Route.

The updates gave no end time for the remaining delays or track inspection.
