21-year-old killed in shooting in Istanbul’s Bağcılar district
Emirhan Menteşe, 21, was shot and killed while walking with Baran D., 20, in the Bağcılar district of Istanbul.
Baran D. was wounded in the leg and taken to hospital; his injuries were not life-threatening.
Police found 13 shell casings at the scene, and two bullets struck a nearby business.
A relative said Menteşe had been shot in the leg about two weeks earlier and claimed the same people were responsible for both attacks.
The relative also described threats against Menteşe, but the attackers have not been identified.
Police are investigating the shooting.
Menteşe’s body was returned to his family and sent to Görele, in Giresun province.
