Famous Stahl House remains unsold after price cut to $20 million

The Stahl House is a well-known home in Los Angeles, also called Case Study #22.

Architect Pierre Koenig designed it for Buck and Carlotta Stahl in 1960, with steel frames and large glass walls.

Its place in architectural history was cemented by a black-and-white photograph showing two women talking in its living room.

After 65 years, the family decided to sell because caring for the home had become harder as they grew older.

It has been on the market for a year, and its asking price was cut from $25 million to $20 million in April.

Real estate agents say the home’s fame is difficult to turn into a price, and its minimalist layout may not suit many buyers.

The house remains unsold, and no further sale plans are stated.

This home has been the center of our lives for decades, but as we’ve gotten older, it has become increasingly challenging to care for it with the attention and energy it so richly deserves

It’s impossible to put a price on fame. With the exception of billionaires who buy properties as collector’s items, most people are buying a home as a place to live
