Indiana beats Michigan in overtime as questions grow over Hoover

Indiana beat Michigan 13-6 in overtime in Ann Arbor, earning its first win at Michigan Stadium since 1967.

Quarterback Josh Hoover completed 8 of 18 passes for 81 yards and threw his first interception of the season.

Coach Curt Cignetti considered replacing Hoover with backup Grant Wilson, but kept his starter in the game.

Hoover was not at full strength after an injury the previous week, and Indiana attempted only two passes in the second half and overtime combined.

Hoover set up the winning score with a 21-yard pass to Brock Schott, then ran four yards for the touchdown.

Indiana's defense stopped Michigan on fourth down in overtime to secure the win, helping the defending champions avoid consecutive losses.

The 7-1 Hoosiers need a stronger offense as they pursue a place in the College Football Playoff.

Indiana hosts Minnesota next week, and Cignetti expects Hoover to improve physically.
