Mexican telenovela actor Carlos Miguel Suárez dies

Mexican actor Carlos Miguel Suárez has died, his friend and fellow actor Roberto Tello announced on social media.

Suárez was known for villain roles in popular telenovelas including *Dos Mujeres, un Camino*, *Soñadoras* and *Amigas y Rivales*.

A 2012 kidnapping seriously affected his life and career after captors threatened his family, took his savings and attacked him during several days in captivity.

His injuries and later health problems made it harder for him to find acting work.

He turned to selling tacos in Mexico City to support himself, first trying tacos de canasta and later selling cochinita pibil dishes with a business partner.

Suárez later returned to television, with his last telenovela role in *Golpe de suerte*, filmed between 2023 and 2024.

The cause of his death has not been announced, and no further information about what happens next has been given.
