Under-45s in UK survey turn to AI for financial advice more than advisers
A survey of 2,000 UK adults found younger people turning to AI for money advice.
Among people under 45, 11% said they use AI chatbots for financial advice, compared with 9% who consult financial advisers.
The survey also found 41% would accept AI advice if it cost less than advice from a professional.
People said they could use AI for more than guidance, including finding better insurance deals, settling disputes and cancelling unused subscriptions.
This suggests AI is becoming an early stop for money decisions, even though most people in the survey were not using it for financial advice.
Financial providers may need to make their products easier for AI tools to find and explain, or risk losing customers to lenders and brokers that do.
The survey does not say when or how quickly providers will respond.

The survey covered 2,000 UK adults and was included in Attest’s 2027 Consumer Trends report.
Among under-45s, 41% said they would accept AI-provided financial advice if it were cheaper than equivalent professional advice.
The report also found consumers are open to using AI to switch insurance providers, negotiate disputes and cancel unused subscriptions.
Attest CEO Todd Latham said financial brands need to understand what consumers ask AI before reaching a provider.

What people are saying
For some younger adults, the first conversation about a money decision is already happening with an AI assistant
Financial brands increasingly need to understand the questions people are asking before a customer reaches them, and which providers and products AI puts in front of consumers.
