Deutsche Börse opens DAX share trading on 360X around the clock

Deutsche Börse has opened round-the-clock trading in shares of the 40 companies in Germany’s DAX index on its 360X platform.

The shares are real securities, not digital tokens, and include companies such as SAP, Siemens and Airbus.

Private investors still need a broker to access the platform, and the required partners are not yet in place.

Unlike trading on XETRA, 360X uses a system in which buyers request offers and can accept or reject them; a trade happens only if both sides agree.

There is no constantly updated XETRA price overnight or at weekends, so the price on 360X may differ from the usual reference price.

The extra hours could let investors react quickly to unexpected events, but trading volumes are expected to be lower than during regular market hours.
