Five Chinese regions add products to trade-in subsidies

Five Chinese regions expanded local consumer subsidies for people buying selected products, including smart home equipment and items for older adults.

The regions are Henan, Shanxi, Tianjin, Heilongjiang and Sichuan.

China’s trade-in program has benefited more than 250 million purchases since the start of 2026 and helped drive over 2 trillion yuan in sales of related goods.

Products covered vary by region and can include smart locks, water purifiers, cameras, hearing aids and cleaning machines.

Most listed regions offer 15% rebates capped at 1,500 yuan, while Shanxi offers up to 2,000 yuan for some products.

Buyers may need to meet energy-efficiency or product-identification rules, and each region has its own process for claiming and using subsidies.

The local schemes are due to end by December 31, and some funds or vouchers are limited and available on a first-come basis.
