Turkish Airlines signs preliminary deal for more than 300 CFM engines

Turkish Airlines and engine maker CFM International signed a preliminary deal for more than 300 LEAP-1B engines in Istanbul.

The engines are intended for 100 firm and 50 optional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft that Turkish Airlines announced plans to order in September.

The agreement also covers long-term services for more than 600 LEAP-1B engines operated by Turkish Airlines and its subsidiary AJet, including engines already delivered and those on leased aircraft.

The deal includes material support for a planned engine maintenance facility in Türkiye, to be developed with Turkish Technic.

Turkish Airlines already operates 79 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with LEAP-1B engines, including AJet’s fleet.

The agreement is a memorandum of understanding, and the companies have not stated when the engine purchases or facility will be completed.
