Obama criticises Trump and Ramaswamy at Ohio rally for Democrats
Barack Obama criticised Donald Trump’s record at a Democratic campaign rally in Ohio on Saturday.
He called the US-Israel war on Iran unnecessary and urged voters to reject what he described as chaos and corruption.
Obama also condemned Vivek Ramaswamy’s ad about Amy Acton, the Democratic candidate for Ohio governor.
The ad features Acton’s estranged mother disputing her account of childhood abuse and homelessness; Acton says she experienced abuse and neglect, and her stepfather was charged with rape.
Obama backed Acton at the rally, where she and former senator Sherrod Brown joined him.
Brown is seeking to defeat Republican Senator Jon Husted, while Acton is running against Ramaswamy.
Ohio’s races are expected to be close, and voters will decide them in the midterm elections next week.
Former President Barack Obama mocked Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a campaign stop in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday.
Obama joked about what he described as Hegseth’s focus on soldiers’ appearances and testosterone levels.
The stop supported Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton and Senate candidate Sherrod Brown.
Obama also criticized Republican figures and recent controversies, including a campaign ad targeting Acton.
