Evion begins magnetic survey to plan Nevada fluorspar drilling
Evion Group has started a drone magnetic survey at its Carp Fluorspar Project in Nevada.
The survey will cover all 59 claims, using closely spaced flight lines to map underground structures.
Carp produced about 44,900 tonnes of fluorspar between 1958 and 1971, but the old workings have not been systematically explored at depth or along geological structures.
Evion will combine the survey with other mapping and geochemical data to identify promising places to drill.
The company expects to complete a surface geochemical survey by the end of 2026 and is preparing for permitting.
Its first drilling program is planned for 2027, subject to permitting.
The project could matter to US supply, as the country relies entirely on imports for its fluorspar needs, according to the US Geological Survey.
Evion Group has started a high-resolution drone magnetic survey at its Carp Fluorspar Project in Nevada to help plan a maiden drilling program.
The survey will cover the full 4.94-square-kilometre claim area, with flight lines 25 metres apart.
The data is intended to map structures linked to mineralisation and help prioritise drill-hole locations.
Evion plans to combine the results with LiDAR, an existing orthophoto and a planned surface geochemical survey.
The company is preparing for permitting for a maiden drilling program in 2027.
- Who
- Evion Group, an Australian-listed company.
- What
- It has started a drone magnetic survey to guide planning of a maiden fluorspar drilling program.

This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
Mapping identified an unmined target about 300 metres southwest of the historical South Pit.
Evion reported that it had launched the drone magnetic survey at Carp.
Data processing and interpretation are expected to take a further two weeks.

Our aim is to put the first drill holes where the geology says they should go.
