Third suspect arrested in Germany over fire at Polish Starlink station
German police arrested a third suspect over the fire at a Starlink ground station in Poland.
The Turkish citizen was detained in the Reutlingen district of Baden-Württemberg, six weeks after the fire.
Investigators say he directed two other Turkish suspects to set the station alight; he is accused of preparing a terrorist offence and is in pre-trial detention.
The fire on September 23 damaged the station’s power supply and backup generator in the Masovia region, south of Warsaw.
The station carries internet data through Poland and into Ukraine, and Starlink supports Ukrainian military communications.
Polish officials have described the incident as possible sabotage, while claims of Russian involvement have not been publicly proven.
The first two suspects are also in custody, and Poland has requested their extradition; German investigators say they are continuing a separate case against the newly arrested man.
