Chinese and European firms discuss green industry cooperation in Ningde

More than 80 Chinese and European business representatives met in Ningde, Fujian province, for a dialogue on green industry cooperation.

The event focused on environmental, social and governance goals, often shortened to ESG, and sustainable business.

Companies including Chinese battery maker CATL and German firm CeraSalt discussed battery technology, cutting emissions and greener production.

The Ningde city government said it hoped the talks would lead to shared technology, markets and standards.

A development-zone authority, CATL and a German business cooperation centre signed a strategic cooperation memorandum.

Several Chinese and German organisations also issued an initiative to make green cooperation among small and medium-sized firms more lasting.

The event included business meetings and visits to local companies, but no specific future projects or timetable were announced.
