Ubisoft proposes voluntary departures for about 100 German employees

Ubisoft is proposing voluntary departures for about 100 employees across its studios in Düsseldorf, Berlin and Mainz, Germany.

The company has started talks with employee representatives, but the proposed plan is still under negotiation and Ubisoft has not confirmed the number of jobs affected.

The plan is intended to reduce staffing while avoiding dismissals.

Düsseldorf is the largest of the three studios, and more than half of the expected reductions may be there.

Mainz leads development of the Anno strategy game series, while Düsseldorf and Berlin support other Ubisoft teams.

The proposal comes amid Ubisoft's wider cost-cutting drive, which has included studio closures, cancelled games and job cuts.

Ubisoft has not announced a final agreement or when employees might leave.
