Jalen Duren leaves Pistons’ game against Heat with right thigh injury

Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren left Friday’s game against the Miami Heat with a right thigh injury during the second quarter in Miami.

He grabbed the area behind his right knee and went to the locker room; the team said his return was questionable.

Duren had four points and six rebounds in 10 minutes, and had been defending Miami’s Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Paul Reed took over at center after Duren did not return to start the second half.

The Pistons also lost Ausar Thompson to an apparent back injury after he fell in the third quarter.

Two injuries affected Detroit in the same game, though the available accounts do not give a diagnosis for either player beyond Duren’s reported thigh injury.

Detroit’s next game is Sunday night in Philadelphia, and Duren’s status remains uncertain.
