Kia expects to rank among Spain’s five best-selling car brands in 2026
Kia expects to finish 2026 among Spain’s five best-selling car brands despite a wave of new Chinese competitors.
Its Iberia chief, Eduardo Dívar, forecasts sales of 66,000 to 68,000 cars in Spain, equal to about 5.7% of the market.
Kia expects to rank third among brands selling to private buyers.
The company also forecasts about 12,000 electric-car sales, which would put it behind Tesla and BYD in Spain’s electric-car market.
Dívar says electric-car sales have picked up as more affordable models become available and fuel costs rise amid the US-Iran conflict.
Kia has asked its headquarters to consider making the popular EV3 at its factory in Slovakia, which could make it eligible for the full amount of Spain’s Auto+ incentives.
