Singer Ryuji Imaichi’s 42-year-old brother auditions for fight event

Naoki Imaichi, the older brother of singer Ryuji Imaichi, auditioned for LEGEND FIGHT.

The event is a combat sports competition for people aged 40 and over, devised by mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura.

Naoki, 42, said he developed severe diabetes at 37 and now uses insulin.

He said the diagnosis pushed him to change his life, and he has been training in kickboxing five days a week.

Asked about his famous brother, Naoki said Ryuji follows his own path and he wants to take on a challenge as himself.

The event’s first competition is scheduled for October 31 in Tokyo, with a prize of 5 million yen for the winner.

The audition video drew surprise and comments online about the brothers’ resemblance.
