About 3.45 million people passed eligibility checks for China's 2027 national civil service exam, with an average of 97 eligible applicants for each planned job.

The government plans to recruit 35,700 people, about 2,400 fewer than in the previous year.

More than 3,000 positions are reserved for people who served in grassroots programs and for university graduates who served at least five years in the military.

The application process added identity checks to deter groups from applying for one post to make it seem more competitive and discourage other candidates.

Eligible applicants must confirm their applications and pay online from Nov.

The written exams are scheduled for Nov.

28 and 29, and candidates will be barred from entering 15 minutes after an exam begins, down from the previous 30-minute limit.
