A pregnant phone-shop worker was attacked in Gemlik, Bursa, on Thursday.

The worker, identified as Berna A., was injured while leaving the shop and sought help at a nearby bank.

Accounts differ on the weapon and motive: one says the suspect attacked her after she refused a phone return, while another says he was angry about a phone bill and used a small axe.

Reports also differ on her injuries and condition; one described them as serious, while another said she and her unborn baby were well and not in life-threatening danger.
