Alan Permane to lead Racing Bulls through 2031

Red Bull has extended Alan Permane’s contract as team principal of Racing Bulls, its second Formula 1 team.

The 59-year-old will lead the Faenza-based team through the end of 2031.

Permane became team principal in July 2025, after Laurent Mekies moved to lead Red Bull.

Racing Bulls is fifth in this season’s constructors’ championship after 19 races, behind the sport’s four leading teams.

The team has scored 108 points so far this season, following 46 in 2024 and 92 last year.

Its progress has put it close to its highest-ever constructors’ finish, according to the reports.

Permane says the team is not done pushing to improve, and the new deal gives it continuity as it develops in the years ahead.

Fighting for fifth in the championship is something we should all be very proud of, but it is the result of years of hard work from a lot of people, and we are not done yet.
