Lions beat Vikings 19-15, ending Minnesota's unbeaten run

The Detroit Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings 19-15 on Sunday in Week 8 of the NFL season.

Minnesota had entered the game 6-0, making it the league’s last unbeaten team.

Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, including a 30-yard score that put Detroit ahead in the third quarter.

The Vikings moved back in front in the fourth, but Jared Goff’s late touchdown pass to Jameson Williams gave the Lions the lead with under five minutes left.

Detroit finished with more than 230 rushing yards and improved to 5-2, winning its third straight game.

Minnesota’s loss also kept the 1972 Miami Dolphins as the only team in the Super Bowl era to finish a season undefeated.

The Lions visit the Miami Dolphins next Sunday.
