Russian and Chinese foreign ministers discuss Ukraine, Iran and US ties
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and China’s Wang Yi met in Baku during an Asian security summit.
They discussed cooperation between Russia and China, along with relations with the United States.
The ministers also talked about the situations in Ukraine and Iran.
Russia and China describe their relationship as a strategic partnership, and their leaders reaffirmed it at a regional summit last August.
China has backed a close partnership with Russia during the war in Ukraine while calling for diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
Both countries have called for an end to the Iran conflict, warning it could spread and threaten regional stability.
No further steps from the meeting were announced.
