Carla Hildebrandt wins two awards at Western Australia media ceremony
WAtoday reporter Carla Hildebrandt won two awards at Western Australia’s annual media awards.
She received the Arthur Lovekin Prize for an investigation into how a banned South African director built an empire of NDIS-approved businesses despite regulatory failures.
The investigation examined a network of companies and a charity run by a South African couple who had left behind a collapsed real estate business.
Hildebrandt also shared the news award with Melissa Fyfe for their report on Virginia Giuffre’s final months.
Giuffre became widely known for her fight against sexual abusers among wealthy people, which she described in a bestselling memoir.
The awards recognise Hildebrandt’s work across two investigations on major public-interest stories; no next steps were given.
