Poland detains six suspected of supplying weapons materials to Russia

Poland’s Internal Security Agency detained six people suspected of working for Russian intelligence services.

The group includes five Polish citizens and a 37-year-old Russian woman.

Polish authorities say the suspects illegally supplied Russia with materials used to make weapons and ammunition.

Four suspects were placed in pretrial detention on espionage charges, while two were released under court-ordered restrictions.

The arrests are part of a wider investigation into suspected espionage and sabotage in Poland; an official said nearly 100 people had been named as suspects in such cases since January 1, 2024.

Officers searched 21 locations in three Polish provinces between October 21 and November 2.

European governments have warned of Russian intelligence activity and possible sabotage, but no further court steps in this case were specified.
