Rai is making a new Herr Rossi animated series
Italy’s Rai is producing a new animated series about Herr Rossi, the comic character who keeps chasing happiness and running into trouble.
The character was created in 1960 by Italian animator Bruno Bozzetto, now 88.
Rossi became well known in Germany through television broadcasts in the 1970s and 1980s.
In the new series, he will be a little man trying to cope with today’s complicated world of technology.
Bozzetto says Rossi will appear in 50 films, and he may wear his familiar hat less often.
The series is to be made at Studio Bozzetto, run by Bozzetto’s son Andrea.

The other films were worse than mine.
The little hat always made him look a bit older. That’s why he’ll wear it less often.
