Sheinbaum says INDEP will prepare a full report on recovered assets

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said INDEP chief Mónica Fernández was not prepared to give a detailed account of the agency’s work.

INDEP is the government body called the Institute to Return Stolen Property to the People.

The government plans to present a full account next week of what the agency has recovered, where the money has gone and what benefits it has brought.

Sheinbaum said 200 million pesos will go to schools in Guerrero’s mountain region, from funds recovered in fraud cases linked to Genaro García Luna.

Fernández said some proceeds from sales and the liquidation of entities go to the Wellbeing Pension Fund, while other funds support the presidential Social Cabinet.

She also said goods are being supplied to the Tianguis del Bienestar, which distributes items to communities in need.

INDEP plans to publish calls for upcoming auctions in the coming days.

No me atrevería a decir la cifra porque ya nos basamos en 500 millones o algo así, de poder entregar en bienes para el Tianguis del Bienestar.
