Suhail Nayyar says 83 cameras track his movements as Sugriv in Ramayana
Suhail Nayyar is playing Sugriv in Nitesh Tiwari’s film Ramayana: Rise of a Legend.
He says sensors and more than 83 cameras capture his movements, including small movements of his face and body.
Sugრივ is shown as a vanara, and the technology helps shape the film’s visual style.
Nayyar said the setup feels like being in a video game, and that he is also taking movement classes for the role.
The role came after his work in Saare Jahan Se Achha, which led a casting company to contact him; director Nitesh Tiwari said that performance was why the team considered him.
Nayyar grew up watching Delhi’s Ramleela celebrations and said he used to play smaller characters in them.
The part connects his childhood memories with a major new role, though the film’s release plans are not given.
